I'm finishing up work on the wooden berm or curved wall ride section. Originally planned as a shorter curved wall with a higher drop at the end , I've decided to make it into an S-curve. More work yes, but it will add to the uniqueness of the whole stunt and more importantly will add to the overall flow. I'm guessing another day of cutting planks and I should be done. A lot of time went into shoveling snow and digging post holes. It will be worth it!

Curved Wall
Building the curved wall is quite time consuming compared to the straight ladders and tables. Seems like I have to play with every single board and adjust the support beams in order to get a smooth line. I found by using longer spikes I'm able to bend the boards to a certain degree. I'm also using a lot of wooden wedges below the boards to adjust the angles. Here I'm using 7' long fir boards. Again a lot of saw work to get those boards cut.

Cutting and Decking
Today I've started cutting boards for the ladder bridge. The most tedious and labor intensive work of the stunt building. The video clip shows how I cut the boards before I buck the

Earthed 3 Preview
"From the mighty Alps, which play host to the most challenging races and terrain, to the slippery woods and windswept mountains of the UK, Earthed 3 has captured riders and locations that you’ve not seen on film before."

Watched "Seasons" again today, it gets better every time I drop that DVD in.

Wintertraining
Getting on my exercise bike every day is a struggle... what keeps me going is a well stocked library of mountain bike movies. I'm watching everything from Kranked 1 - 7 to New World Disorder, CKD, The Collective, Roam and Seasons, Illusionary Lines, Virtuous and a whole lot more. After a few minutes, with the music cranked up to max I get totally into it and the boring training session becomes fun.... no comparison to the real thing ;-)
